“Factors Leading to the Selection and Closure of the New Testament Canon: A Survey of Some Recent Studies” by Everett Ferguson, in The Canon Debate, edited by Lee Martin McDonald and James A. Sanders The article is a very sensible, expert treatment of the issues. The book is a huge collection of recent material on both OT and NT canon. A mine of information, highly recommended, though the articles are of uneven quality. Mostly critical, but the editors included a few traditionalist Roman Catholic, Evangelical, and even Jewish scholars. |

Redemptive History and the New Testament Scriptures Herman N. Ridderbos Perhaps the best (if short) theological treatment of canon available.
